This notice explains what personal data we collect through acquisitiv.co.uk, why, how long we keep it and what rights you have. We've tried to keep it plain. If anything is unclear, email us and we'll explain.

Who we are

Acquisitiv is a trading name of Kelvin Lane Growth Partners Ltd, a company registered in Scotland under number SC626329, with its registered office at 100 West Regent Street, Glasgow G2 1PB. We are the "controller" of the personal data described here. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under number [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER].

Our offices are at 100 West Regent Street, Glasgow G2 1PB and 5th Floor, 167–169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF. For anything about your data, email [PRIVACY EMAIL] or write to our Glasgow office.

Please don't send us sensitive personal data (for example about health) through the website. We don't need it.

How does data move between our tools?

When you submit the Acquirers Club form or the Accelerator application form, an automation tool (n8n) passes your answers into our database in Airtable. We use Airtable to manage Club membership and applications. n8n only moves the data; it doesn't keep a separate copy beyond short-lived processing logs. [Confirm n8n hosting: see draft flags.]

Who do we share data with?

We use a small number of service providers ("processors") who handle data on our instructions and under a written contract:

  • Google (Google Analytics 4): website analytics
  • Calendly: booking briefings
  • n8n: moving form submissions into Airtable
  • Airtable: storing Club and Accelerator records
  • Cloudflare: hosting and security
  • [EMAIL SENDING SERVICE]: sending the Club email and monthly report

We may also share data with our professional advisers (for example lawyers or accountants) where needed, or where the law requires it. Acquisitiv is part of the CDI Global network of M&A advisers; we don't pass your data to other network firms unless you ask us to.

Is my data sent outside the UK?

Yes. Google, Calendly, Airtable and Cloudflare are US companies, so your data may be processed in the United States. UK law allows this where there are proper safeguards. For each of them we rely on one of these:

  • the UK–US data bridge (the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework), which has applied since 12 October 2023, where the company is certified under it; or
  • the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, built into their data processing terms.

[To confirm per processor before launch.] You can ask us for details of the safeguard used for any provider.

How long do we keep it?

Data How long
Google Analytics data 14 months, then deleted automatically by Google
Briefing bookings 24 months after our last contact with you
Acquirers Club Until you unsubscribe. We then keep only your email address on a "do not contact" list so we don't email you again.
Accelerator applications 12 months if you don't join; 6 years after the programme ends if you do
Email correspondence 24 months, or 6 years if it relates to an engagement with us
Cloudflare security logs For the period set by Cloudflare's standard service, usually short

After these periods we delete the data or make it anonymous.

What are my rights?

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access a copy of the data we hold about you
  • correct data that is wrong or incomplete
  • delete your data in some situations
  • restrict how we use it in some situations
  • object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
  • move data you gave us to another provider (data portability), where we rely on consent or a contract
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This doesn't affect what we did before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, email [PRIVACY EMAIL]. There's normally no fee. We'll reply within one month, and may need to check who you are first.

How do I complain?

Please tell us first, and we'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
